I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.

Thanks, I enjoyed reading your post. I think if you are worried about selling your home in this tanking housing market, choosing the home improvement route is a win, win situation.
Thanks.

Very interesting article and many ways to look at this subject. Many are closed in their thoughts and need to open up a little.

Kristen, will all due respect, the ROI is really good on a geothermal system. Although I must point out that my house is super insulated with foam and is an energy star house so it is tight. I see the most savings in the summer. This information is based upon my own now five year system.

I won't kid you that the upfront cost is huge. There are state rebates too. Anna www.green-talk.com

We wanted to do geothermal, but the cost was prohibitive. I think what you say about the cost and ROI is a bit misleading. Yes, it's good for the environment, but we wouldn't live long enough to make back what we spent. Unless a person has a bottomless wallet, these choices are not so simple. I look forward to the day when prices on green remodeling become competitive.

I am so glad you installed geothermal. I did too and find it to be amazing. I built a new house four years ago with alot of green materials and geo was top on my list. I expect a five to seven year payback on the geo. Since my house is an energy star house and is very tight, I have energy recovery/hepa units. Check out Broan's systems. They are very reasonable.

I like reading about your renovation! Anna www.green-talk.com.
